Continuing with their presence at Australia’s largest international food and hospitality exhibition, 12 Greek companies took part in this years Fine Food Australia, held at Sydney Convention Exhibition Centre, from 9 to 12 September.
The event, annually alternating between Sydney and Melbourne, is the leading trade mark for the food industry in Australia and place where importers and exporters are able to meet one-on-one and discover new business opportunities, as the exhibition is reaching out not only to Oceania, but also to Southeast Asian markets.
Drawing the attention of thousands of trade buyers visiting the convention, the Greek pavilion showcased 12 export companies. The products exhibited by Greek companies were traditional Greek products coupled with innovative flavours suitable to attract the palate of Australian consumers – table olives, olive oil with different flavours, balsamic vinegar, feta cheese, cream cheese, halva products, dried fruits, roe, appetizers, table wines, liqueurs and soft drinks.
The Hellenic Export Promotion Organization (HEPO) has already declared its participation for 2014 Fine Food Australia.
“With the successful presence in the Australian market we showed that a new generation of Greek certified quality food meets all the requirements for entry and retention in the Australian market, can meet the needs of the new generation of consumers and high standard of living. We made these steps, with expectations that the third generation expatriates will follow the introduction of our products to the everyday meals of Greeks and Australians,” president and chief executive of HEPO, Alkiviadis Kalampokis said.
Fine Food Australia returns to Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre next year, from 15 to 18 September 2014.
