If the clubs and the Football Federation of Victoria (FFV) were hoping for a quick solution to their National Premier League (NPL) battles, this week wasn’t the case.

Meeting on Wednesday outside of court in mediation, the Clubs and the FFV were not able to find a workable model that met the needs of both sides.

Instead, they will now meet in the Magistrates Court on September 23 for a hearing of the plaintiffs’ claim.

In a statement, the co-signatory clubs said they were “disappointed at the outcome” and found they could not agree with the FFV’s zonal conditions that would see many junior teams lost.

The FFV is still going ahead with its NPL proceedings and will announced successful applicants on September 30.
