Last Wednesday, St John’s College successfully celebrated its Speech Night, in the presence of His Grace Bishop Iakovos, Reverend Fathers, and members of the college staff, parents and students.
The event acknowledged the academic, cultural and co-curricular achievements of students and provided the opportunity for the whole school community to farewell the 2013 Year 12 cohort.
Principal Dr Harry Ladopoulos congratulated all students on receiving their awards and especially acknowledged the diverse talents and strengths of the students in reaching their potential.
Dr Ladopoulos emphasised the priorities for 2014 will continue to build upon what was successfully achieved in 2013, with an emphasis on promoting and encouraging student – centred learning, high levels of student, staff and parent satisfaction, initiating improvements through positive modelling, ethical and high level professional practices in a caring, Orthodox Christian environment.
He also thanked the commitment and dedication of the staff for their inspirational and methodical teaching and their support and care for students. The evening was enhanced with musical items by the College choir and a dynamic performance of the Senior Dance group.
