Paul Savva, the president of the Greek Cyprian Senior Citizen’s Club, won the Victoria Award this week. Mr Savva received the award from Elizabeth Miller, MLA for Bentleigh, as recognition of all the work he has done to assist in the running of the club over the years as well as his willingness to help.
“Paul is a great member of the Bentleigh electorate and he donates much of his time to his Greek Cyprian Senior Citizen’s Club,” said Ms Miller.
“The Bentleigh electorate is very multicultural and it’s great that special groups exist within the area to allow for seniors to celebrate their cultural identity,” Ms Miller concluded.
Mr Savva was nominated by the committee members who described him as always willing to help everybody inside and outside the club.
The Victoria Award, initiated by MP Elizabeth Miller, is awarded to those who display acts of kindness and service to their community as well as excellence of involvement in local causes.
