Actress and TV presenter Maria Menounos, and current host in TV’s Extra, was awarded for her voluntary work this month in Los Angeles.
Chase and Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, honoured the television personality with the Point of Light award, which was created during the administration of US President George H. W. Bush.
His granddaughter, Lauren Bush, visited Menounos on the Extra set to present the award.
Over the years, Menounos has brought stars, producers and others from the entertainment industry together to help people in need.
As a founder of the “Take Action Hollywood!” organisation, Menounos focuses on HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention of diabetes and childhood obesity, and educating the public about severe social challenges.
