Singer songwriter Matt Katsis has announced a run of shows from now till mid-June as a lead up to his upcoming tour of the US.

Earlier in February, Katsis won first prize in the Bruthen Blues & Arts Festival’s International Musician’s Challenge – a total of 60 musical acts entered via several heats hosted around Victoria which led to a final shortlist of 10, each of which performed a set on the Festival Saturday for final judging. First prize will see Katsis jet-setting over to Southern Oregon, USA during July for two festivals and various venue performances. In the lead up to this, he will be road tripping up the west coast from Los Angeles from mid-June.

For the upcoming shows, Katsis will not only be featuring his original songs. In addition, he will be paying tribute to artists who have influenced and inspired him along the way, performing his own renditions of songs by artists such as Elvis, Cat Stevens, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan. A few select shows will be with his band, reggae/rock influenced The India Black.
