It’s been a sad slump for Essendon in the last couple of weeks, and the Anzac Day clash near win must have soured some positive spirits in the locker-room.

The round four win against Fremantle will seem like a bit of a fluke if the club fails to get crucial points in their match against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday.

It will be an interesting match for both teams, but a lot of emphasis, especially from the fans, will be directed at the former Bomber turned Bulldog, Stewart Crameri.

It’s his first match against his old team and it won’t be much of a suprise if we see some former teammates signalling him out on the pitch.

Essendon is tipped to come away as the winner, but if their last match repeats itself, the Bulldogs might be able to push ahead and bag the win.

Essendon is likely to welcome back midfielders Brendon Goddard and Heath Hocking, as well as Tom Bellchambers, which will help their work around the stoppages.

Geelong’s first loss won’t be for long

Geelong suffered their first loss of the season, and will be expecting to come back with a vengeance when they take on Richmond on Sunday.

The Cats have the perfect fixture to return to their winning ways, with 38 wins under their belt out of the 46 times they’ve met the Tigers since 1984.

Richmond is once again in a hard place, sitting at 13th on the ladder and only having won two out of their six matches this season.

GWS early wins just a fluke?

Also in the same boat are the GWS Giants. Their amazing two win start to the season is starting to feel like a bit of a fluke as they progress. With three losses behind them, the Giants will be desperate to get back into form when they take on Port Adelaide tomorrow.

Port dominated the last match between these teams, winning the disposals 450-379 and inside 50s 67-41 in a commanding 75-point victory. A win against Geelong last week has kept them on top of the ladder and no surprise that the team has better odds to win, but GWS has shown they are more competitive season. It could be the huge upset of round seven.
