Melbourne Victory have released midfielder Jimmy Jeggo, citing the player has decided to “pursue other options”.
Jeggo made 30 A-League and four AFC Champions League appearances for Victory since joining the club at the beginning of the 2010/11 season as part of its
National Youth League set up, making his senior debut in November, 2011.
Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat spoke highly of the player, saying: “Jimmy has been a pleasure to work with during his time at Melbourne Victory and was an important part of our recent A-League and Asian Champions League campaigns.”
“He is a great guy to have around and was very popular in the changeroom, so we certainly wish him all the very best for the future.”
Jeggo joins the group of exiting players as the season comes to an end this week. Already, Melbourne Heart have said goodbye to five players.
Defenders Patrick Gerhardt, Sam Mitchinson, David Vrankovic and Jeremy Walker have all ended their association with the club, while left-back Aziz Behich has completed his loan spell with Heart and will return to Turkish Super Lig side Bursaspor.
