West Adelaide Hellas will verse their arch rivals, Adelaide City, in the Federation Cup qualification final at the end of May.

The Greek sponsored team managed to thrash its way into the final this week as it beat Western Strikers 5-1.

Although conceding the first goal nine minutes into the match, the club climbed its way up methodically, with goal opportunities coming up easily in the second half.

Three goals in the second half, with two coming from former Adelaide City striker Ricardo Da Silva, sealed the fate of West Adelaide.

The teams met just last month where West Adelaide used their competitive advantage to win 3-1. The Hellas boys sit on top of the NPL ladder in South
Australia, four points clear of the second best. They’ve only lost once in twelve games, with two draws to their name.

The winner of this year’s Federation Cup will represent SA in the new national knockout cup.

The final between West Adelaide and Adelaide City will be held at Coopers Stadium on Saturday 31 May at Coopers Stadium, Hindmarsh.
