Sophie Mirabella, former Liberal MP, had to flee a University of Melbourne lecture theatre after it was stormed by protesters.
Mirabella was escorted out of the theatre where she was delivering a lecture on Monday morning. Now an academic at the University of Melbourne, Mirabella was confronted by around 20 people who protested over her employment at the university but also over higher education changes.
This protest comes days after Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop was mobbed after visiting the University of Sydney over changes made in the 2014 Federal Budget over changes to higher education.
