The Burning Light, a political play that reinterprets Kostas Varnalis’ original poem for a 21st century audience, as written and directed by Vasilis Kolovos, will be performed tonight in Sydney, at the Factory Theatre, 105 Victoria Road, Marrickville.

The performance will be repeated on Saturday at 8.00 pm at the Factory Theatre.

Melbourne audiences will have the opportunity to see the play at the Athenaeum Theatre, 188 Collins Street, Melbourne, next Saturday July 5.

The play’s protagonists are Jesus Christ and Prometheus, who are two figurative personalities of history and mythology. Jesus Christ taught love and equality, while Prometheus gave people knowledge and taught the arts. These two characters share a captivating dialogue throughout the entire performance.
This new dramatic adaptation is performed entirely by Greece’s People’s Artistic Collaboration.
