Socceroos attacking midfielder James Troisi has signed for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad after passing a medical in Dubai earlier this week.
The 27-year-old failed to feature for Italian giant Juventus after signing in 2014.
Troisi wasn’t called upon for national duty in Australia’s World Cup qualifier against Bangladesh and its upcoming qualifier against Tajikistan next week.
Following the signing Troisi tweeted ‘Excited to officially join @ittihad. Looking forward to getting into Jeddah and meeting all the fans.…’.
Despite being overlooked for national duty against Bangladesh and Tajikistan, Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou has insisted Troisi is an integral part of Australia’s plans toward Russia 2018.
