Stab victim Chris Soteriou is seeking $53,237 in unpaid costs from his ex-wife’s family after being left for dead in a Fitzroy backstreet in 2010.

Soteriou was stabbed six times and had his throat slashed as he left his 44th birthday celebrations, when his wife’s lover Ari Dimitrakis came at him with a knife.

Soteriou’s wife Vicky is serving a nine-year jail term and was ordered to pay her husband $2.4 million in civil damages for the attempted murder after she gave Dimitrakis a knife hours before the attack, and insisted on driving her husband to the party in Fitzroy.

It’s alleged Vicky transferred property to her parents to stop her ex-husband getting any money, after she failed to have a bid to have the civil damages overturned.

Soteriou will now take her sister Theodora and their parents Maria and Dimitrios Skarlatos to court to seek the costs.

His lawyer Maree Carroll contacted the family demanding payment of the money.

“Our client holds court orders for these costs to be paid immediately,” Carroll wrote.

“Should you chose to ignore this communication our client will institute appropriate enforcement action in the Supreme Costs Court immediately.”

Court documents show Soteriou has summoned the family to appear at court in October.
