Greece’s Georgios Sotiropoulos has come away the winner at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe after claiming the golden bracelet, making it three bracelet winners from Greece within the space of a week.
The Greek pro was one of contributors to the 546 bundles of cash collected for Event #8 and walked away with more than money after defeating Paul Tedeschi heads-up.
Sotiropoulos also walked away €112,133 richer in the process.
Greece had never produced any winners prior to the tournament.
The tournament, held in Germany’s capital Berlin, featured 2,144 players concluding last week.
Despite being one of the smaller poker nations, Greece has had a recording breaking performance at the 2015 WSOPE and Sotiropoulos’s name will go down as being part of that impressive trio of wins.
