Nick Moir, storm chaser and SMH photographer has just captured insane shots of a massive shelf cloud forming along the Bronte-Bondi Sculptures by the Sea walk.

Moir was not the only one to post about this rare cloud formation.

Many tourists and Sydney residents took to their social media accounts to capture the phenomenon.
