AHEPA’s Greek School put on a festive end to the 2015 school year with an end-of-year concert on Monday.

The event took place at the Performing Arts Centre auditorium of Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School, where more than 200 smiling parents, grandparents, friends and members of AHEPA gathered to enjoy the Christmas presentation.

All students participated in a showcase of Greek language and culture, performing songs, poetry and dance with plenty of colour and enthusiasm.

There was also a special screening of the short film produced by grade 4 students and teachers, which took out third prize in this year’s Student Film Festival competition.

The event was opened by chairperson of the school council Tasia Manos, who proudly spoke of the work being carried out by the school and thanked parents for their ongoing support.

Principal Stella Lambrou also reported many successes and improvements made by the school over the past year, and emphasised its role in preserving Greek language and culture.

First grade teacher Eleni Papadaki received the first Teacher’s Outstanding Achievement Award, in recognition of her great enthusiasm, innovation and diligence.
