The Bank of Sydney has donated over $60,000 towards much needed research into juvenile diabetes.
On his recent visit to the Bank of Sydney’s head office, the bank’s CEO Miltos Michaelas presented the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s (JDRF) CEO Mike Wilson with a cheque for $62,0000.
The impressive sum is the net proceeds from the banking institution’s first annual charity dinner.
“The bank has a rich history of charity work and as part of our corporate social responsibility and our vision to give back to the community we aim to support Australian charities in any way possible,” said Mr Michaelas.
Mr Wilson thanked Mr Michaelas and the Bank of Sydney for their efforts and complimented the community engagement and support he experienced throughout the charity event.
JDRF is the leading global organisation funding research into Type 1 diabetes (T1D), and is built on a grassroots model of people connecting in their local communities with the mission to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D and its complications.
