Well-known western suburbs food blog Consider The Sauce (CTS) is teaming up with Seddon cafe Fig & Walnut to host a fundraiser for not-for-profit Climate for Change.
The grassroots organisation works towards increasing the number of people concerned about and prepared to act on climate change.
To help bring their message to the masses, they have just completed a successful fundraiser online, raising $151,996.
Now CTS’s Kenny Weir and Fig & Walnut co-owner Vera Xanthis are doing their part to raise awareness and give people the chance to contribute to the worthy cause, while enjoying a delicious feast.
“This will, we hope, be a grand occasion that will taste great, be a great opportunity to network, and a gathering of old friends and new,” wrote Weir on the CTS blog.
Xanthis and her team will put together a vegan banquet featuring everything from Mediterranean paella and ancient grain salads, to roasted eggplant and pumpkin with almond creme dressing, and a variety of vegan antipasto.
Wine will also be available on the night.
The fundraiser is the third event in an ongoing western suburbs food festival being run by CTS.
The Climate for Change fundraiser takes place at Fig & Walnut (11-13 Bellairs Ave, Seddon, VIC) on Wednesday 19 July from 6.00 – 10.00 pm. Tickets are $45.00 and include food. To book, visit trybooking.com/book/event?eid=290203
