With Christmas just around the corner, the Greek Welfare Centre, in association with the Greek-Orthodox Parishes, has organised a food hamper and toy appeal for the Greek-Australian households that cannot support themselves.

The Centre has called out for as many Greek-Australian businesses as possible to show their charitable side, especially during the holiday season, to those who are less fortunate, and offer as much as much as possible toward the food and toy appeal.

Instructions given by the Welfare Centre dictate that all foods offered must be non-perishable, such as spaghetti, oil, rice, coffee, tea, biscuits or canned foods.

Meanwhile all toys offered are asked that they are as new as possible and still in package so as to give to the children that exciting unwrapping experience. Any non-perishable food and toys can be offered to all Greek-Orthodox Churches until Sunday 9 December or alternatively to the Greek Welfare Centre located at the Holy Monastery of Axion Estin, 7 Hartington Street Northcote until Friday 21 December.

For additional information, please ask your local church or call the Greek Welfare Centre Victoria on (03) 9486 6588 and ask for Edmond Kaderoglou or John Pilaidi.
