An injury-troubled Nick Kyrgios was eliminated in a first-round defeat at the Australian Open on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old was sent packing after being defeated by Canadian Milos Raonic 6-4, 7-6, 6-4.
Requiring treatment on his right knee and preoccupied with his ailing body, he told the trainer he felt like “absolute dogs**t” after each set. The pain appeared evident towards the end of the first set.
Though Raonic offered Kyrgios a few opportunities, the ailing star could not earn a single point for the match whereas Raonic just lost four points on serve.
"It is what it is. I got to play well. I got to worry about myself."

Despite doing his best to combat the Canadian, Raonic was too strong an opponent.
Raonic will now face a second-round clash with 2014 Australian Open Champion Stan Wawrinka.
Earlier in the day, Kokkinakis had also succumbed to injuries and pulled out of the first match against Japan’s Taro Daniel.
