Orthodox Easter was not a public holiday this year. It fell on Sunday, 28 April 2019 and most businesses follow regular Sunday opening hours in Australia.
This did not stop Orthodox Christians from celebrating the occasion.
We asked readers to send us photos documenting their celebrations and we were inundated.
There were Epitaphs in full bloom and in all their glory sent to us from around Australia and beyond.

We received Easter messages from as far as Florina, with Yiannis Papadimitriou sending us a photo of the beautiful Epitaph of Ammochori, Florina. northwestern Macedonia.

Lisa Ladies sent us the beautifully-decorated Epitaph from St George, Sheparton

Gina Ellis sent us this photo from the Facebook page of St Nicholas Church in Canberra.
