The General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad is organising a 15-day summer camp trip to Greece from 15 to 30 July 2019.

The program is open to 20 Australian students of Greek decent aged between 9 and 12 years. The program will accept five students plus one accompanying adult from Melbourne.

The participants will have the opportunity to get acquainted with modern Greece, visit archaeological sites, attend cultural activities and take part in educative and recreational activities around Attica.

Accommodation, including other expenses such as meals and local transportation costs in Greece will be covered by the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad.

Airline tickets and all other expenses occurring prior or following the end of the camp trip are to be covered by the participants.

For an applicant to be eligible, at least one of their parents should be of Greek descent. The student should also have to be undertaking Greek language classes.
Priority will be given to those who have not visited Greece within the last two years.

Finally, a medical certificate from a pediatrician verifying the physical and mental health of the student must be provided with the application.

All candidates should fill in and submit the application form available at General Consulate of Greece in Melbourne (or in other states).

The application form should be signed by both parents or the legal guardian (in case of a divorce).

The parents must bring the application form and the relevant documentation to the Consulate General (37-39 Albert road Melbourne), no later than 11 June 2019.
On 10 June the Consulate General will remain closed for the Queen’s Birthday.

The realisation of this project will fully depend on the expression of interest.
