There’s no getting in the way of the Spartans this season.
The team from the eastern suburbs continued along their winning path last weekend as they took on local rivals Old Xaverians at the Rathmine Reserve, easing past them by 44 points.
The visitors were only able to keep up with the Hawthorn club for the first quarter, as the Spartans put their foot on the gas in the second part and never looked back.
Brizzi put on a most impressive performance for the home side, making all the difference between the two teams with his six goal kicks.
Now the Spartans are flying high as they sit on the top of the ladder with 24 points, having six wins and just a single loss so far this season.
They prepare to head down to Fearon Reserve where they will face Williamstown, who are currently placed fourth.
The game will be held on Saturday 1 June at 9.20 am.
