On Sunday the Lemnian Community of Victoria’s Ladies Committee held a self-defence workshop.
The aim was to empower women to feel safe when out and about, in what can sometimes be an unpredictable and unsafe environment.
The women who attended had a fun afternoon and gained some invaluable advice and skills to help protect themselves should they ever need to.

The session was run by John Volaris from Kenpo Torque Martial Arts, who volunteered his time to customise the session, making it very interactive.
Following a positive response from those who attended, the Committee is planing on running more workshops in the future for both women and children.
