Olympian Spiros Gianniotis is set to be inducted into the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame in 2020.
Announced on Saturday, the 39-year-old will be the second swimmer from Greece to be honoured in the Hall of Fame. The first was Jason Zirganos, who became a member in 1971.
The swimmer has represented Greece in every Summer Olympics since 2000, from Sydney and Athens, to Beijing, London, and Rio in 2016 where he won the silver medal.

Gianniotis also has two FINA 10km Marathon Swim World Series wins to his name, the first in Shanghai in 2011 followed by Barcelona in 2013, and came third in the event in Kazan in 2015.
Th freestyle swimmer has won a total of 15 medals in major international long-course competitions.
In 2011, he became the first and only Greek swimmer to date to have received the World Open Water Swimmer of the Year award.
Gianniotis will officially be inducted as the Honor Swimmer in the Class of 2020 at a special ceremony to be held in New York on 2 May, 2020.
