Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu made claims that Greece has been firing at refugee boats and sinking them in the Aegean before returning the wounded refugees to Turkey by force. These statements were made during a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Heiko Mass, who visited Turkey on Saturday.

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected these statements in a message.”Such unsubstantiated claims regarding supposed practices against refugees expose those who make them and are an insult to the personnel of the competent Greek authorities and Greek citizens who are making enormous efforts every day to save lives,” the message states.
