Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis arrived in the United States on Sunday (local time).
His first visit is at Tarpon Springs, Florida, where he will meet with members of the area’s large Greek community. He will celebrate Epiphany Day in Florida before heading to Washington for a slew of meetings with various officials, including US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday.
Mr Mitsotakis hopes to highlight Greece’s role in ensuring stability in the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean as centre for both regions and a reliable ally of the United States.

The visit to the US will include a meeting with International Monetary Fund chief Kristalina Georgieva on Wednesday.
The Greek community of Tarpon Springs have been excited regarding the visit that comes a century after the previous visit to the area by Greek prime minister Eleftherios Venizelos on 30 January, 1922.
