With 40 years of experience in law, John Velos has represented clients from family law to bankruptcy – sometimes for free for those who need it.
His work as a lawyer has helped him have a real understanding of local people’s needs and problems, and has always believed that giving back to the community is important. As such, he has always been active and served as Council from 1983-1992 for the City of Prahran – now part of the City of Stonnington – and also served as Mayor of the City of Prahran from 1989-1990.
Popular demand has caused him to consider a return to local politics and he will be standing for these elections as a candidate for North Ward. His slogan is “Working for our community” and his goal is to help ratepayers get value for their rates.
