The re-elected Palaszczuk government will be investing in a total of 211 multicultural events in the state of Queensland for 2021.
Amongst them is also Bribie’s OPA Greek Festival which managed to secure $5,000 in funding for next year’s event expected in September.
In a post on Facebook, MP Ali King, Member for Pumicestone, congratulated the festival for receiving the support.
“Cultural diversity is one of Queensland’s greatest strengths and is definitely worth celebrating,” Ms King wrote.
This year marks her first term in the Queensland parliament, with the Labor MP stating she is looking forward to gathering with the community at the Festival, following a tour at the site of Bribie Island’s Retreat and Recreation Centre, where it takes place.
