Sydney’s residents have been thrown back into lockdown this morning following new coronavirus cases recorded overnight.
The Northern Beaches region continues to be divided in two, with gatherings of five outdoors allowed north of the Narrabeen Bridge while south of the bridge residents can see up to 10 people outside, including children.
Meanwhile, stay-at-home orders are being issued with health authorities promise to revise restrictions in the coming days.
In the next few days many residents that have been in hotspots or have come in contact with positive cases will finish 14 days isolation.
Seven new COVID-19 cases were recorded in NSW today, six of whom are linked to the Avalon cluster. That comes after the state recorded nine new cases of locally-acquired COVID-19 on Boxing Day, eight of whom linked to the same source which now numbers 122 cases in total.
The one remaining locally-acquired case is currently still under investigation NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said. A pub on the Northern Beaches now an increasingly crucial venue.
The results came from almost 24,000 tests conducted in 24 hours. The Premier has urged anyone that has visited infected areas to be tested as well as those that are presenting with even the mildest symptoms.
