There were four new COVID-19 cases reported in Victoria adding to total of 36 active cases in state according to the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) figures issued on Monday, 4 January.
The DHSS said three of the new cases were acquired locally and one was from overseas. A total of 32,468 test results have been received. More than 1,000 people have been asked to self-isolate across the state. One person was receiving hospital care in isolation, although the department added the case may not be related to COVID-19.
Last night, the DHSS added the following exposure sites in Melbourne: Bodriggy Brewing Company, Abbotsford; Merrymen Cafe, Hampton; IKEA Springvale and the IKEA Springvale – Cafe and Restauraunt; and the Springvale Shopping Centre. The DHSS said that: “these premises have had confirmed cases visit during their infectious period. This does not mean that there is an ongoing risk associated with the premises, and you can safely visit the site in line with current restrictions.”
