Ilias Psiroukis, 25, is one of the 24 young scientists chosen by National Geographic as part of its spotlight on National Geographic Young Explorers.

The young scientist from Mytilini, interested in Space innovation, joins a cohort of impressive young people on the frontlines of the most complex and urgent issues of our times, withy everything from ocean and biodiverseity to food insecurity and the impacts of drought and water scarcity.

“Ilias believes that scientific knowledge about space should be accessible to all young people,” writes National Geographic.

“He co-founded SPIN – Space Innovation – a non-profit that develops space technologies and shares knowledge about them.”

Mr Psiroukis name is now listed among the #GenGeo global community of youth with passion in an effort to find solutions for a sustainable planet.

Mr Psiroukis was also included on the Forbes list of 30under30 for Greece 2021 for his work in space technologies since 2012, when still a student.
