The Greek Community of Agia Paraskevi, St Albans, is turning a new leaf following the election of a new board of directors at its recent annual general meeting. The new scheme will lead the procedure for the community to come under the aegis of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.
Georgina Papafotiou, the former mayor of Brimbank, takes the helm as the new president of the Community. Her father, Sotiris Papafotiou, had held the role in the past.
Ms Papafiotiou is interested in normalising relations with the Archdiocese and has already held discussions with Archbishop Makarios.
The Vice President is Areti Akamatis, treasurer is Dimitrios Louloudakis, aided by George Gavogianis, General Secretary is Vasiliki Gavas aided by Hariklia Markou.
