In times of upheaval and chaos, music and song have inspired Greek people to struggle for a better world and to honour those who have given their lives for a cause.
This year, Greeks across the worlds are celebrating the 200th year anniversary of the Greek War of Independence which saw many Hellenes and Philhellenes put their lives at risk for their beliefs, for freedom, and for democracy.
To honour this, the Greek Community of Melbourne would like to present the next event in their yearlong Greece21 program: Tsitsanis, Hatzidakis, Xarchakos, Theodroakis: Songs of liberation by Greece’s four great composers.
