Victoria is in day two of its fourth coronavirus lockdown, with  five new cases and contact tracers focusing on five Melbourne exposure sites.

The five new cases were detected from 56,624 test results processed on Friday, an apparent record for the state.

More than 15,000 primary and secondary close contacts have been linked to the outbreak.

There are now 45 active cases of COVID-19 in the state, which includes another two recorded in hotel quarantine

Despite the problems with the booking system, Victoria broke its record for the most vaccine doses administered in a single day on Thursday. Health Department data shows there were 41,389 doses administered, breaking the previous record by more than 10,000.
