Victoria recorded four new COVID-19 cases on Thursday as Melbourne prepared for restrictions to ease, and 22 new exposure sites related Arcare Maidstone aged care facility were added. These listings, tier 1, are linked to the facility’s Magnolia Unit and the communal facilities area all day and night from 27 May to 5 June and 26 May from 7am to 11.59pm.

Other additions to exposure sites include BP in Thomastown, which was added as a tier 2 exposure site from 6pm to 6.30pm on 7 June and Bunnings Thomastown from 6pm to 6.30pm on 8 June.

New restrictions to apply from 11.59pm on Wednesday were announced, however there are many hotels and restaurants concerned with the density caps at 100 patrons and only 50 seated indoors.

Among other measures being scrapped are the five reasons to leave home and the 10km travel limit, which will now be extended to 25km. Visiting regional Victoria remains forbidden, however people from regional Victoria can visit Melbourne.
