Victoria recorded no new locally acquired COVID-19 cases on Friday, as Melbourne emerges from its fortnight-long lockdown.
The last time Victoria recorded zero new cases was on 24 May, when the recent outbreak was first detected.
On Thursday, 17,604 test results were processed and 20,752 vaccination doses were administered at state-run sites.
Melbourne’s lockdown has lifted, however heavy restrictions remain, including the wearing of face coverings outdoors – reversing a previous decision made the day before for outdoor masks to no longer be required.
These include no visitors into Melbourne homes, mask-wearing both indoors and outdoors and a travel bubble of 25km – lifted from 10km.
Contact tracers are exploring how four cases in a Reservoir household were detected on Wednesday and there are no links established so far to other cases.
More exposures sites were listed overnight.
The lifting of lockdown at 11.59pm on Thursday means that Melbourne is no longer a hotspot, despite some businesses being required to remain closed for at least another week.
