Hurricane Sakkari swept through Dutch opponent Arantxa Rus to take the win in just 49 minutes ending on 6-1, 6-1.

The match was postponed from its original premiere due to rain.

Maria Sakkari won the first set in 20 minutes, and did not concede a single point during her service.

The second set saw the French Open semi-finalist maintain her stellar game play, reaching a quick break again at 2-0 and pushed through for another three games without giving any away.

Rus bit back, clinching one game win, but she was no match for Sakkari who came through with a love-game immediately after, closing the match with 6-1.

Sakkari will return to court tomorrow at 2:30am AEST to face American Shelby Rogers.
