Horrendous details came to light regarding a Wollongong father’s fight for survival after his throat was slashed last Christmas by his son.
Alex Hatzimanolis is alleged to have committed the crime while visiting his father and grandmother at their Wollongong home.
A Sydney court heard that despite serious injuries, the 63-year-old father managed to escape and drive until the nearest emergency ward.
NSW Police then arrested the son in his Wollongong home and charged him with attempted murder.
