A popular Oakleigh cafe has been listed as a Tier 1 exposure site, after a person who tested positive to COVID-19 visited the venue last week.
Vanilla Lounge at the Greek Precinct of Eaton Mall, a place frequented by many Greek Australians, is among Victoria’s exposure sites.
Anyone who visited the popular cafe on Friday, 9 July, from 2.45 to 4.30pm must get tested and quarantine for 14 days from the date of exposure.
The cafe said in a Facebook post that it had been informed of the news by the Department of Health. “We are now a Tier 1 exposure site through no fault of our own,” said the post.
Vanilla Cafe was shut down on Wednesday and is being cleaned after becoming an exposure site.
Neos Kosmos tried to contact Vanilla Cafe but did not receive a response.
A message has been posted outside the cafe.

On Wednesday, the MCG, Highpoint shopping Centre and a CBD pub have been added as exposure sites after Victoria recorded seven additional local coronavirus cases.
Almost all new cases are linked to an apartment building complex in Melbourne’s inner-west.
COVID-19 response commander Jeroen Weimer said teh fresh cases were in addition to one new infection overnight which had been linked to the fourth member of a family that had returned to Melbourne from Sydney.
Four of the new cases were third-floor residents at the Ariele Apartments complex in Maribyrnong.
