The first day of September saw PRONIA extend a big “Thank You” to all the Alpha ELC Educators and the support team for their efforts during the challenging times of the past year.
Early Childhood Educators’ Day which falls on 1 September, recognises and celebrates the work of Australia’s educators in early learning services for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care.
The Covid-19 Pandemic has had everyone facing restrictions, lockdowns, and limitations to freedom and socialisation. However, the Early Childhood Sector has persevered and continues to overcome these challenges thanks to the efforts and contribution of educators.
PRONIA sees Educators Day as a day to reflect, celebrate and recognise the aspirations and hard work made towards the development of an effective learning program meeting the needs, interests and scaffolding the children learning.
Families benefiting by the services of PRONIA’s Alpha Early Learning Centre acknowledge the new things their children have learned, talk about a story their educator read to them, floor games, group times, play and activities engaged in throughout the day, the food they had for lunch and the importance of nutrition and the benefits towards their health and wellbeing.

Through this current lockdown the staff have worked tirelessly to continue engaging the children who are able to attend the centre with the children that are at home. The kindergarten group made playdoh which was then delivered to the children living nearby. The toddler group made bread to share with all the children at the service. What a wonderful way to remain connected, caring and sharing with their community.
PRONIA asked the children how they would say “thank you” to their educators and here are some of their comments
- “My Special Teacher is Anna- I love her cuddles and when she reads me books”
- “My special teacher is Debbie- I love when you does painting and drawings with me, and always making me smile”
- “My special Teacher is Iris- I miss you and hope you are doing okay, miss singing songs and playing with you”
- “Angela – You’re the best teach, I love you. Thank You for your big hugs”
- “Love both my teachers Angela and Maria because they give me hugs”
- “Litsa is my best friend, like Litsa soooo much.”
In addition to the children’s voices the cards, drawings, paintings and gifts from the children and their families were greatly appreciated and warmly welcomed by the staff. PRONIA’s Management also aknowledges the dedication of the team, committed to continuously support the children and families at the service and in Home learning.
*Management ensures the families remain informed on Government information, directives and advice from the Chief Health Officer and the Department of Health and Human Services.
