Victoria has recorded 535 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases and one further death as the state wakes to a slight easing of restrictions.

It is the highest single-day tally since the outbreak began.

The death of another person with COVID-19 is the 10th recorded in the current Delta wave.

Of the new infections, only 62 have been so far linked to known cases or outbreaks.

They were detected from 61,622 test results processed yesterday.

There were 45,537 vaccines administered at state-run sites on Friday.

The state this week passed a target of having 70 per cent of people aged 16 and over with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

From today, fully vaccinated Melburnians can meet up outdoors with one other household in groups of up to five adults plus dependents. The five-kilometre restriction on movement from the home has also been widened to 10 kilometres.

It is the first time there are different rules for fully vaccinated people, with up to five people from two households allowed to gather if everyone has had two doses but only two people permitted to meet if they are not double dosed.

Outdoor gyms and skate parks have also been reopened, with Melburnians now allowed to exercise for four hours per day, instead of two.

Public transport into the city has also been restricted to prevent anti-lockdown protesters from travelling into the city on Saturday.
