Over the same period there 867 new local cases of COVID which includes an additional 140 reportable cases from Monday and nine from Sunday that were incorporated into today’s figures because of test results that were, according to DHHS, ” incorrectly reported by a third-party software vendor supporting a private provider”.

The DHHS added more Tier 1 sites to its list today and these included Ultrasound Clinic for Women in Geelong (23 September, between 9.10am and 10.15am); Godfrey’s Butcher, Moonee Ponds Central Shopping Centre (22 September 9.30am-6.30pm) and 23 September 9.30am -4.30pm); Goodstart Early Learning Keillor Village in Keillor (21September, 9am-5.30pm and 22 September, 9am-11.30am); and Community Kids Early Education Centre in Bayswater North (21 September, 8.30am to 5.30pm and 23 September 6.30am to 7.30am).

Meanwhile,7News  reported earlier this morning that police pulled over a slow-moving convoy of trucks who were disrupting traffic flows on the Tullamarine Freeway towards the city. Their action was held in protest to mandatory vaccinations against COVID-19.

According to the report ,the truckers were to have met at Todd Road  Service  Station close to the West Gate Bridge in Port Melbourne and were to drive out slowly to disrupt traffic. However, the convoy of 10 trucks drove slowly along on the Tullamarine Freeway and were stopped by police near Moreland Road, about 15 minutes from the CBD.

It is not clear if they were linked to last week’s protests in the city.
