The inner-city Melbourne suburb of Richmond experienced flash rain and heavy hail, this afternoon, at about 2.30pm.

The hail, large and small, accumulated around flats and houses, including the front door of this top floor flat (see picture below), and resembled snow.

In typical Melbourne weather, the rain and hail stopped, and the sun started shining again about 20 minutes later.

Dora Houpis took these pictures a short time ago outside her block of flats, in Elizabeth St, Richmond.
