South Australian police have been forced to separate tennis player Nick Kyrgios and his model girlfriend, Chiara Passari, into different rooms after a heated argument during their hotel quarantine stay in Adelaide,  according to the ABC.

The couple had been quarantining together at The Playford Hotel after spending time overseas, when police say they were called to a verbal disagreement yesterday afternoon.

Ms Passari took to social media to confirm that police became involved, with the couple now separated into different hotel rooms.

A spokesperson from SA Police said officers were alerted to a verbal argument between two occupants at a medi-hotel on Thursday afternoon.

“An investigation was conducted, no offences were disclosed and both parties will now spend the remainder of their quarantine in separate rooms,” the spokesperson said.

Passari later invited her Instagram followers to ask her questions online.

Kyrgios’s return to Australia follows his first-round loss in the US Open in August and representing Team World in the Laver Cup in Boston last month.

The former world number 13 has previously said that he intends to take the rest of the year off.
