The Irish Embassy in Athens marked the birthday of Dublin’s famous writer Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) with an excerpt from his poem “Impression du Voyage” on Twitter.
It read: “And a red sun upon the seas to ride, I stood upon the soil of Greece at last!”
The tweet was accompanied by a photograph of the author in traditional Greek costume, taken in Athens in 1877.
