Victoria recorded another 1,841 new cases of COVID-19 and 12 more deaths to the virus.

New data shows that Victoria will reach the 70 per cent double vaccination threshold on Thursday, and on Friday restrictions will ease somewhat.

Victoria’s roadmap out of lockdown wrongly stated entertainment venues could reopen on Friday. According to the mistake, entertainment venues could reopen once 70 per cent of the state’s population was double dosed.

Victoria’s Premier said the error was a “typo” and was fixed hours after it was published online on Sunday.

Entertainment venues will reopen when the state hits its 80 per cent double dose vaccination targets, expected to take place by 30-31 October.

Reported yesterday: 1,841 new local cases and 1 case acquired overseas (currently in HQ).
– 38,881 vaccines administered
– 78,928 test results received
– Sadly, 12 people with COVID-19 have died

Meanwhile, the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner has ordered the release of records of secret briefings used to justify sending Victoria into lockdown. More than 100 pages of the Department of Health briefings are being made available to the public, relating to the February lockdown.

It is the first time that such material is being made publicly available, and there may be calls for the reasons for all six lockdowns to be released.
