Outdoor diners will be greeted with 38 “no smoking” signs when they sit down to eat in Oakleigh’s Greek precinct tomorrow as Victoria’s sixth lockdown ends.

An audit by Neos Kosmos, today, at 11am, found that there were 22 “no smoking” signs on street posts, in the Greek restaurant section of Eaton Mall, between Atherton Rd and Portman St.

Of the “no smoking” signs on the footpath, Neos Kosmos counted 16 signs from the Oakleigh Central entrance, in Portman St to the end of the mall, in Atherton Rd.

Neos Kosmos last week reported that police were investigating the theft of “no smoking” signs in the mall.

This paper also reported some shops posting their own signs in their windows opposing the no smoking rule.
