At least six Greek Melburnians died of COVID-19 in the last few days, and dozens are currently in ICUs in a week which has seen a record number of deaths in Victoria due to the pandemic.

From data gathered by Neos Kosmos, at least 40 Melburnian Greeks have died in the latest wave of the pandemic, on top of at least 150 which died in the second wave last year as COVID-19 spread like wildfire through aged care homes.

The total number of deaths in Victoria since the start of COVID-19 has been 1,090 from the 1,448 in Australia as of Friday.
