The Food for Thought Network will interview Professor Mary Kalantzis about her personal life, and rise through academia on Sunday 14 November, 3pm.

One of themes explored earlier in the year through the Food for Thought Networks’ Lens Series was promised brides, and similarly, Ms Kalantzis’ “domestic destiny came to pass in the form of an arranged marriage at 17.” Hear about the cultural conditioning at the time, and how attitudes have evolved since then for women of Greek migrant parents.

Professor Mary Kalantzis is one of 42 inspirational women featured in the book, HER VOICE: Greek Women and Their Friends, by Food for Thought Network founder Varvara Athanasiou- Ioannou.
